## Featured Project: Medical Clinic Website & Booking Platform

A full-stack booking platform for a surgical clinic in Amman, Jordan (https://abuobaydatajjarrah.com). Sole developer and infrastructure engineer. This project demonstrates end-to-end ownership across frontend, backend, DevOps, analytics, and third-party integrations — all for a non-technical client in a non-English market.

**Frontend:** Static site built with Astro 5.0 and Tailwind CSS, deployed on Cloudflare Pages. Arabic-first RTL design with View Transitions, animated patient review scrollers, and a dark mode. Content managed via Markdown collections with Arabic plural rules and custom numeral formatting.

**Booking System:** Phone-number-based verification flow (no email/password). Users verify via SMS or WhatsApp, receive a JWT token, then book through an embedded Cal.com modal. The verification code is sent through a custom SMS gateway or the WhatsApp Business API.

**SMS Gateway:** Android phones running Termux serve as SMS gateways, connected to the backend via reverse SSH tunnels through a VPS. A Node.js microservice dispatches SMS requests in parallel to multiple phones with automatic failover — all async with fire-and-forget semantics.

**Backend (n8n):** Self-hosted n8n orchestrates phone validation (via a standalone service using google-libphonenumber), rate limiting, verification code management, booking confirmation with Cal.com, and staff notifications via Telegram and WhatsApp.

**Analytics & Ad Fraud Detection:** PostHog instrumentation tracks the entire booking funnel (10 custom events) with frontend-backend correlation via phone number identity. An engagement tracker detects fraudulent ad traffic (ghost visits from Google display ads on gaming devices) by measuring time-on-page, scroll depth, and click interaction for ad-attributed visits only.

**Infrastructure:** Cloudflare Pages (frontend), self-hosted n8n + Node.js microservices on a Linux server (backend), systemd service management, reverse SSH tunnels for SMS phones, WhatsApp Business API with auto-registered webhooks, PostHog EU Cloud for analytics.
